What you will find at Higgins Resale Shops:
Welcome to the Higgins Resale Shops, where you’ll find a diverse range of excellent, well-known clothing brands and household items. Our astute customers can enjoy fantastic bargains on fashionable attire for every season, and sought-after products, often priced significantly lower than their original retail value. Families can explore our collection of carefully used strollers, baby equipment, toys, and bicycles, ensuring delightful experiences for their little ones. Kitchen enthusiasts will be delighted by our assortment of premium-grade small appliances, serving and mixing utensils, as well as elegant table settings and flatware that are sure to enhance any dining experience.
“We only sell items that are in good condition and are trending in the season,” says store manager Susan Lemel.” Although we accept and process literally hundreds of thousands of pounds of donations each year, only the best items make it to our shelves. This makes shopping at Higgins a pleasurable experience, instead of a dumpster dive!”
How can I donate to Higgins Resale?
For more information on how to donate household items, furniture and appliances, please refer to our Item Donation page.
What becomes of all the other donation items?
“What many in the community may not realize,” says Susan, “is that our employees and volunteers sort through 100% of the donated items and either resell, recycle, or redistribute them. We actually provide the manpower that ships gently used items to third-world countries in partnership with Rotary International. So, when you donate to Higgins South, you will either provide clothing, bedding, or household items to a local family in need, or you will be providing those items for a family in need in another country. Your donations are greatly appreciated, and we are dedicated to being good stewards of all of your donated items.”
What does the money generated from the thrift-store pay for?
The money generated from Higgins South and Higgins North resale shops goes to Faith Mission and Help Center to provide emergency services and for the purpose of creating paths to self-sufficiency for those in need throughout Washington County. The funds are used for the following:

- Support training classes and scholarships toward higher education for our clients.
- Create and support jobs on campus.
- Enable Faith Mission to operate as a self-sustaining organization.
