There are many ways for you to volunteer!
Faith Mission and Help Center

Faith Mission and Help Center has been recognized by the state of Texas as a model mission facility, due in part to the many collaborative partnerships between evangelical, governmental, and private sectors.
Faith Mission has been able to move beyond meeting emergency needs, and is now helping clients attain vocational training, college certifications, job skills training, counseling, and life skills development classes. Our goal is to see our clients reach their highest potential, and achieve self-sufficiency.
Below, we’ve listed a few ways in which you can assist Faith Mission with volunteer work. Thank you for your interest in volunteering for Faith Mission!
Disaster Relief
Faith Mission serves as the Volunteer Disaster Coordination organization for Washington County. In the case of natural or man-made disasters, Faith Mission coordinates with the city, county, and other entities to develop planning and strategy for implementing relief efforts.
Higgins Resale Stores
Higgins Resale Stores are the ‘life-blood” of our organization. This thrift operation recycles thousands of pounds of clothing, furniture and household items each year.
Faith Mission volunteers assists in not only recycling items for the Higgins Stores, but also pack and ship items destined for third-world countries.
Volunteers are asked to work in the following capacities: A) on the docks sorting through recent donations, B) in the processing area pricing items C) as a store organizer helping to clean and organize shelves. This is the perfect opportunity for a church or civic group to work as a team and donate regular hours each week. The groups that do this have reported that it has been extremely fulfilling for their group members.
S.M.A.R.T After School Program
Faith Mission, in partnership with Brenham ISD, has identified school-aged children classified as ‘homeless’ and are providing educational tutoring and accountability through the district’s S.M.A.R.T. Program.
You can become involved in the life of an at-risk child by helping children complete their homework assignments, develop relationships through mentoring, and encourage play each Monday and Wednesday afternoon at the Faith Mission campus.
Salvation Army Bell Ringing
Faith Mission serves as the administrator of the Salvation Army funds raised in Washington County. Salvation Army donations are used to meet emergency housing and utility needs throughout Washington county.
100% of the funds collected stays in Washington County. You can volunteer to ring the bells for a two-hour shift, or grab a group of co-workers or friends and have a ‘ring-off’ at opposing sites. A cheery face is the best medicine for gathering Christmas cheer and helping those in need.
General Construction Projects
Faith Mission always has ongoing construction projects at our multiple locations. We can utilize volunteers to assist with projects as small as building a fence or painting a room or we can use large professional work crews to build new campus buildings or renovate existing property.
Please notify us of your skill sets and preferred availability. Our volunteer coordinator will contact you within the week to discuss further details.
