Souper Bowl of Caring with HEB

Every year, Faith Mission and HEB partner for the Souper-Bowl of Caring. This is an event designed to fill the Faith Mission food pantry for an entire year. Volunteers are encouraged to take a shift, encouraging shoppers to purchase pre-filled grocery bags in the amount of $5 or $10. This is a great opportunity for office, church and family groups to work together in community outreach.

Salvation Army Bell Ringing

Faith Mission serves as the distribution house for local Salvation Army donations. These funds are vital, as they assist families in emergency situations, providing assistance for temporary shelter, food, or utilities. 100% of the donations given to the red kettles during the Christmas season stay in Washington County. Faith Mission staffs volunteers from the weekend after Thanksgiving through Christmas Eve. This is a huge undertaking, and we appreciate all of our families, school, church and office groups who participate each year.

Thanksgiving Meal at The Cannery & Meal Delivery to Shut-Ins

Thanksgiving marks the beginning of “The Holiday Season” and it can be a very sad and lonely time for many. Faith Mission provides a Thanksgiving meal for anyone in the community who wishes to enjoy a home cooked meal and enjoy the fellowship of others. Volunteers contribute by doing meal prep-work, serving lunch at The Cannery Kitchen,  and delivering meals to shut-ins on Thanksgiving day.

SMART Kids Program

The Faith Mission SMART Kids Program provides spiritual, educational and physical supplementation to children associated with the mission.  A summer program focuses on Science, Math, Art, Reading, and Technology, as well as an introduction to community leaders and career opportunities. The Fall and Spring programs provide mentoring and hands-on tutoring provided by community volunteers. We are proud to boast that these children maintain higher GPA’s than average, proving that the program and accountability do pay off for these children.
